Nearly 2,000 tractors, trucks and pieces of vintage farm machinery are coming Thursday to the Alliant Energy Center.
The 20th annual Red Power Roundup, hosted by Wisconsin Chapter No. 4 of the International Harvester Collectors Club, will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. About 25,000 people are expected to attend.
Highlights include a performance by country music star Craig Morgan, whose hits include “International Harvester,” and a tractor and truck parade to the UW-Madison Library Mall with author Michael Perry as parade marshal.

Admission is $10 per day or $25 for three days for adults age 16 or older; $5 per day or $12 for three days for children age 6 to 15; and free for children age 5 and younger.
Morgan, whose hits also include “Little Bit of Life,” “Tough,” “Almost Home” and “Redneck Yacht Club,” will perform at 3 p.m. Thursday in the arena building.
About 140 tractors and trucks will leave Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center about 10:30 a.m. Friday for the Parade to the Archives at the Wisconsin Historical Society on the Library Mall. The route will include John Nolen Drive, Broom Street, West Washington Avenue, around the Capitol Square, Wisconsin Avenue and Langdon Street.
Perry, the parade marshal, is author of “Population: 485,” “Coop” and “Truck: A Love Story.” Much of Perry’s research for “Truck” was done at the historical society’s IH-McCormick Archives.
The three-day event also includes presentations on quilting, historic barns, scanning photographs, tractor painting and researching family history.
