2010 California Antique Farm Equipment Show Opens April16

TULARE, Calif., (AgPR), April 15, 2010 - Gates open for the 17th Annual California Antique Farm Equipment Show tomorrow, April 16th. Here is the information you need to know. Hours: Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Exhibitors: Nearly 800 exhibitors from the western states exhibiting antique tractors and farm equipment. Entertainment: International Agri-Center staff and volunteers welcome Jerry D. Hobbs and the Country Rhythm Makers at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 17. Vintage tractors will be put to the test during festival

By John Weiss, Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN PLAINVIEW -- Oh boy, do those guys in the old tractors know how to have a good time. To practice for the Aug. 15 Tractor Games at Plainview's Corn on the Cob Days, they competed to see who could push a barrel, which was partially filled with water, down Third Avenue Southwest in Plainview. They also competed to see who could drive the slowest and who could maneuver a chain into a square on the pavement. All the while, others laughed, encouraged and laughed some more. It's all because of a love of those old tractors. Tractor Games is new to the festival because the Greenwood Prairie Classic Iron Club is new to the area. Antique Tractor Drive Planned for Wayne County Illinois

The Wayne County Tractor Drive, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day), will be an opportunity for antique tractor lovers from southern Illinois to showcase their collections. All tractors that are model year 1979 or earlier (30 years of age or older) are welcome to participate. The planned route for the drive will begin north of Geff at Grainergy Farms on U.S. 45. The tractors will head south on the highway to the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Fairfield. The public can join the drivers there for lunch and talk one on one about the tractors and their history.
